Johnson Out, McDonald In At Goodison?
According to News of the World, Moyes has singled out the Australian striker as an ideal replacement for Andy Johnson, who is being courted by a host of Premier League clubs.
Johnson has found himself out of favour at Goodison Park despite impressing after his move from Crystal Palace in 2006, and the likes of Sunderland and Wigan have expressed strong interest in the England international.
The Latics have supposedly had a ₤9million bid rejected, as the Merseyside club are holding out for a significant profit on the ₤8.5million they spent on the former Birmingham City man.
McDonald in many ways would be a like-for-like replacement, being of similar stature and style to Johnson, and Moyes would no doubt be attracted by the potential link-up between he and compatriot Tim Cahill.
The ex-Motherwell poacher’s stunning form during his first term at Parkhead has forced many doubters to eat humble pie, and his next move is certain to command a fee far greater than the ₤700,000 the Bhoys paid for him.
But it is highly unlikely the Glasgow giants would sell so soon, especially after McDonald agree a new five-year deal only last month.
