Olympics - Bolts Triple Crown

Post  Guest on Sat Aug 23, 2008 4:23 pm

Olympic track and field comprises 26 running events, 3 walking events, 16 field events, the decathlon and heptathlon. Part of the program at every Modern Games, it has produced several of the Olympics' greatest champions. Usaine Bolt of Jamaica has stepped on the podium as the fastest man in the world destroying three world records that has been around for decades. Bolt won the 100m, 200, and 4 x 100m relay in record time. Never before has a any man won three of tracks most prestigious events in a single olympics by a single athlete.

Was Bolt un-sportman like when he pounded his chest while winning the 100m race or is the olympic committee making a bigger thing of it? Whats your thoughts on this and the olympics in general...

Reggae outttttttttttt

Bolt is a character and one the sport needs. He isnt arrogant, he is proud and so he should be. The boy has some serious pace and he's worked hard to get himself there.
Beating your chest in pride of yourself, your country and your achievement is NOT un-sportsmanlike.

If hed have run around rubbing it into his oppnents or talking trash in the press ... then yes ... but he didnt. He's a very cool down to earth chap. Respect to him.

I have a mixed view on it. At first I was like come on man dont do that, its disrespectful. The more I thought about it the more my opinion changed.

IF YOU CAN RUN THAT FAST AND CRUSH A RECORD EVEN WHEN YOU PULL UP AT THE END THEN DO WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT LOL.

Great runner though and glad to see a tall person winning some sprinting events Very Happy
