FIFA 09
This game sounds awesome but over the years i cant help but believe EA have hiped fifa up and then delivered not much.
This year on PS3 and 360 the game was meant to feature next-gen intelligence.. it doesnt.
Graphically stunning.. its gorgeous from afar but very few player faces look like their real-life counter part.
They took out stadiums that are in Fifa08 on ps2.
and for about 4 years now they've been showing screenshots pre-release that are more cinematic and not completely representative of in-game action. you only have to watch the intro movie when you switch fifa 08 on to see that the game itself does not flow like that and player animations aren't even half as swift.
10v10 be a pro sounds great if it doesn't lag.
be a pro: seasons sounds like a good mode but i can bet it will get repetative if done more than once. (just like captain country did on Euro)
the player-controlled celebrations that were in Euro are in fifa09 which is koooool
the collision system should help fix some stupid tackling moments
if the passing and dribbling is like euro then great-we can run with the goalkeeper all the way up the field and score....
however the passing in Euro was awesome
Im totally excited about this game, i do think they will do something great-but there's that little voice in the back of me reminding me that every year EA state things and show things that just aren't 100% correct.
but hey, at least the linesman and referee will be on the pitch in 09.

Re: Fifa 09
Yeah i get the feeling most years they slap on a few more stadiums, change up a few graphical elements and whack the next years badging on the case and sell it as a new game ....
BUT im hoping (praying even) that, as this was the first next gen Fifa, that they just rushed it out asap to get it on the market and started working on completely tarting up 2009. I personally think they will take big steps with the 09 version BUT figure they will leave a few things out so they can over work them to perfection so that Fifa 2010 can be massive.
As a marketing perspective and as far as gaming history is concerned they would want all of their 2010 titles to be far and beyond the competition and anything thats been released before !

FIFA2010
for sure they'll want to be a perfect game by then, because i heard the license they hold for all the teams expires at the end of 2009 and therefore PES will be able to make a bid for it and with c.ronaldo, m.owen and *rhumor*-f.torres working with PES its gonna be a fist fight to the end.
it would be totally weird and a big shame for PES to get the license in 2010 lol i love the game but fifa just has the right feel coz PES only feels quiker becoz the players feet 'slide' accross the ground rather than taking realistic steps in mostsituations and thats the only thing setting it apart from fifa. fifa is much better and Euro 2008 showed great dribbling and passing improvments which will be much wanted in fifa09
i agree though-fifa09 will be great

Video
thanks for the videos etc. spot.
it looks fantasticly smooth and it looks like were gonna be able to control our dribbling far more accurate.
also the cut-scenes seem to have different camera angles and an atmosphere about them that 08 didn't have.
good to see players pointing to where they wanted the ball; referees and assisstants, a much better version of the emirates, and the defenders bouncing off strikers if they try and run full throttle into their back

Re: Fifa 09
it'l be a clean slate
i dont know this as a fact but im 99.99% certain
coz on euro you had to start clean. and also a skill level is representative of your skil on 08-nt on 09, so it'l b everyone back to square one.
looking forward to playin everyone on it!
